Meet Curious Learning
Curious Learning is a 501(c)(3) organization with a powerful global mission: Give every child an opportunity to learn to read.
Literacy is imperative for rapid self-improvement including through engagement with the ever-growing realm of digital education and employment opportunities. Curious Learning provides the infrastructure and coordination team that make this possible on a global scale through the use of tablets and a SaaS platform to track and manage them.
Their Challenge
Create a reliable SaaS platform for managing a disconnected global network of over 1 million Android tablets on a non-profit budget, utilize technologies that are open source, and coordinate with grad students at multiple universities to delegate work and minimize costs where possible.
Our Contribution
We have had the privilege of getting involved with Curious Learning through our Director of Technology, David Gibbs. David began working with Curious Learning while at GSU completing his Master's degree in Computer Science in 2013. His contributions formed the basis for their current SaaS platform and he grew to become a trusted architect and team coordinator while never losing the willingness to put in grunt effort where needed.
Snaptech is passionate about raising global awareness...
Today Snaptech is responsible for all software development and operations for the SaaS platform that manages the rapidly expanding tablet roll-out. Between coordinating grad students, crunching large amounts of data to optimize AI, handling A/B testing, traveling to a few tablet deployment sites, and exploring synergistic opportunities in Tanzania, we have also learned a great deal ourselves.
Snaptech, as a company, is passionate about raising global awareness through education and supporting start-ups (non-profit or otherwise) in that endeavor. We are incredibly grateful to be a part of what Curious Learning is inspiring in the world.
